Remembering Larry Hoey

I am a friend of Larry's from college.  I am glad to see all the contributions to the web site already and would appreciate if you include mine as well. I am not that computer literate and hope you can put together the pictures below (attachments) as well as the folowing text:

I met Larry in the fall of 1970 as a college sophmore at the University of Rochester. I was Sandy Noymer's roommate (she is the girl in the picture with Larry alone) and although I did not share their love of folkdancing (2 left feet), our group became lifelong friends. The group picture is from June 3, 1973, our graduation day. Some of you will recognize Sandy and also Myra Hirschberg, another  avid folkdancer in the picture.

In the last 27 years, Larry and I exchanged Christmas cards, or if I did not hear from him at Christmas, I could count on a birthday card  with a long, newsy letter in March. How many people continue to remember  your birthday for 27 years?

I last saw Larry at Myra's wedding in 1996. I watched his joyful, graceful dancing with admiration. I will miss having this gentle, kind, intelligent man in my life. I am so glad that I knew him.
