In the heart of Lincoln Square, this Greek restaurant takes you back to the old country with its stone walkway, street lanterns and faux stucco walls. Barba Yianni's offers traditional, Greek fare. The menu highlights a selection of charcoal broiled meats, seafood, kabobs, pastas and other vegetarian dishes.   his simple, community joint gathers regulars in the snug, Mediterranean bar. In between occasional shouts of "Oopa," you can pick up the thick Greek accents of staff and patrons alike. An underground nightlife complete with live Middle Eastern music by Safwan Matni and a belly dancer every Friday and Saturday nights beginning at 9:30pm and lasting until 2:00 am.  Owner Tom Christopoulos named his restaurant after his Barba Yianni, "Uncle Johnny," who helped his family come over from Greece.  Getting to the restaurant is easy as it is in the middle of Lincoln Square, tucked into the E side of Lincoln Avenue. 

Our Special Family Style Dinner will be a an "Family Style" feast including unlimited servings of:

  • Greek salad
  • soup (egg-lemon or fish-vegetable)
  • appetizer combinations
  • roasted chicken
  • spinach cheese pie
  • moussaka
  • pastitio
  • dessert
  • unlimited tea and coffee
  • unlimited soft drinks.


Cost: $20/person (before 02/05/2003)  -  $25/person (after 02/05/2003 or at the door) - Tax & Tip Included

Driving: Street parking can be found and there are 2 city parking lots on Western/Leland Lincoln/Leland. 

Public Transit: At the CTA Brown Line (Ravenswood) Western Ave Station and by the Western (#49) & Lawrence Bus Stops (#81)
